Take Time to Nurture You
Life is hard on our bodies. Sometimes, we push beyond our limits. Other times we unintentionally cause trauma just by living out our day-to-day routine. The good news is, regardless of the cause, suffering with pain, discomfort or immobility is not something you have to accept as a way of life.
Just as injuries result from endless sources, healing, too, comes in many forms. Orthopedic trauma, for example, such as a low level sprain, can usually be treated and healed in a just a few weeks. More severe injuries may require surgery, followed by several months of rehabilitation.
Then there are those afflictions that can occur at a deeper level, such as soft tissue injury from radiation therapy, traumatic injuries from a motor vehicle accident, sports injuries or other physical trauma. These debilitating impairments usually require care over a longer period of time, sometimes lasting years, and require a much higher degree of focus and effort both by the client and the practitioner in order to reach full healing potential.
Again, there is hope. As a physical therapist for 20 years, specializing in lymphedema therapy for the past 12 years, I have found it increasingly more difficult to treat clients requiring long-term restorative care in what is now the “typical outpatient setting”. The direct, intentional focus that is needed to promote healing proved difficult to achieve. So while pain was decreased and function was improved, some lasting impairments still lingered and needed to be further addressed.
Through this realization, I developed a personalized program, to nurture and restore the body over time, allowing body, mind and spirit to heal at a deeper level. By creating a comfortable, nurturing environment that supports reaching this desired level of intentional focus, a closer collaboration can occur between the client and myself. This allows us both to tune in to the individual’s “body talk” and energy. In this way, we become a team and together we create a more powerful healing experience.
Combining healing along with harmony is a vision I have held dear to my heart for years. I look forward to partnering with you on the road to total healing, resulting in a better, healthier, pain-free YOU!
Sincerely,
Kelly
